An Individual’s physical fitness is measured by the person’s ability to do their daily tasks seamlessly. Fitness can broadly be bifurcated as Aerobic and Anaerobic fitness.

  1. Aerobic fitness :- Simply called as ‘Cardiovascular fitness’ is the fitness of one’s Heart (Cardio) and Blood Vessels (Vascular) is the measure of the efficiency of their heart and lung functioning. The main goal is to strengthen your cardiovascular system by optimising your heart rate and breathing. Rhythmic actions/workouts are performed for a period of 15 to 30 minutes using large muscle groups. Exercises like walking, jogging, running, step aerobics, cycling and even swimming form the major activity prescription for an individual’s Aerobic fitness.
  2. Anaerobic fitness :- Exercises done in short periods of time with high intensity focussing on developing muscle strength and endurance is Anaerobic Training. Exercises like sprinting, weightlifting, floor exercises etc. are activities that require using weights, resistance bands, weight of your body against gravity to work out your muscles in small simple movements or in simple holding positions. Anaerobic workouts unlike Aerobic exercises uses only Glucose and fat for fuel.

Flexibility training is among the most important types of fitness training because it provides a foundation for all your other exercise types. These stretching exercises reduce your risk of injury, improve your flexibility and range of motion, and serve as a solid warm-up for more vigorous exercise. Additionally, yoga can strengthen and relax your muscles, while tai chi can reduce stress and improve your balance. Flexibility exercises are an excellent way to improve your posture and breathing.

Our bodies are composed of Lean Mass and Fat Mass. Lean mass is the mass in your body comprised of tissues, muscles, bones, organs and water content. Fat Mass is the fat content stored in your body as reserve energy. Lean Mass is metabolically active and burns calories all day whereas, Fat mass is just fat storage and doesn’t burn calories. We assess your Body composition and devise a Fitness regimen to strike a balance between your fat and lean mass and then improve the Lean mass content y focus on reducing the fat mass significantly.

A Healthy Mind is the cornerstone of a Healthy Body, Healthy Soul and a Happy Life.

Mental Wellness according to the World Health Organisation is defined as “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.” A person’s mental state is influenced by a number of internal and external factors that might play a vital role in determining their emotional, cognitive and social thought process and behaviour. When these factors go haywire, it might result in acute (outs of anger, anxiety and depression) or chronic stress. Such negative effects lead to a chain of physical discomfort like headaches, heart palpitation, bowel problems etc. It might even result in heart attack and stroke depending on the intensity of the stress felt by the individual.

At AMOL, you can talk with our Mental Wellness experts and feel free to share how you feel under stress. We will guide you through a few sessions for understanding you better and then based on findings, our Therapist will recommend you a Mental Wellness regiment. It could range from simple breathing exercises to structured exercises to complicated Yoga poses or even a combination of these three.
